Tindersticks "Simple pleasure" english summary

Leider vollkommen ohne Bandinfo erreichte mich diese Veröffentlichung.

Die TINDERSTICKS spielen souligen Schmuse-Rock irgendwo zwischem dem akustischem DAVID BOWIE der 70er und Soul-Koloß BARRY WHITE. Zurückhaltende Rhythmen, warme schmachtende Backgroundvocals (weiblich natürlich), soulige Orgeluntermalung und eine Stimme, die tatsählich wie ein Mix aus David Bowie und Barry White klingt, leider streckenweise ebenso leicht daneben wie Bowie auf so manchen seiner frühen Songs. Besonders hervorheben muß man eigentlich keinen der Songs, denn alle bewegen sich auf konstantem gutem Niveau.

Wer sich ab und wann mal einer stilvollen Soul-Schmacht-Platte hingeben will, der sollte sich die TINDERSTICKS gerne einmal näher anhören. Für Progrocker und Metalheads gilt wohl eher: Finger weg, es sei denn, ihr wollt als DJ einen Schulabschlussball zur Petting-Orgie umgestalten ;-) Wertung: 4

The british band TINDERSTICKS play soft soul rock in the style of BARRY WHITE mixed with some acoustic atmosphere of DAVID BOWIE (during the 70ies). There's not one weak track on this album so all of you who'd die for an romantic evening of soul should check this album out. Progrockers and metalheads should keep their hands off this CD ... except you are a DJ and you would like to turn a teenager school party into a heavy petting disaster. ;-) 4 points
