Cage "Astrology" english summary

CAGE aus San Diego haben sich mit dem letzten Album "Unveiled" schon in die Ohren vieler Pure Metal Fans gespielt. Mit "Astrology" setzen sich sich dort fest.

CAGE das heißt schnörkelloser, traditioneller Heavy Metal. Nach zwei fetzigen Openern stampft das fette Psychotically deranged als erster Track so richtig in die Headbanger-Presche. Nach alten IRON MAIDEN in druckvollem Soundgewand klingt The Edge, in JUDAS PRIEST Manier holzt Echelon dem Zuhörer die Doublebass-Salven um die Ohren, Root of all evil ist dann erst mal der letzte begeisternde Track bis zum schwerfälligen Groover Broken dreams. Zum Abschluss gibts mit Victim of society aber nochmal eine mächtige Pure Metal-Vollbedienung.

Was ich nach wie vor an CAGE vermisse, sind Vocals mit längerem Haltevermögen und schlüssigere Kompositionen. Für melodieverliebte Metaller sind CAGE eher nicht geeignet. Für Truemetal-Fans gilt: wenn ihr CAGE noch nicht kennt, sollte sich mit den Jungs vertraut machen. Wertung: 5

CAGE from San Diego got quite some attention by their debut "Unveiled". "Astrology" is the new album of this pure metal band. After two heavy tracks the first highlight of the album grabs you by the neck ... Psychotically deranged. The edge sounds like old IRON MAIDEN while Echelon offers doublebass-canons in the style of JUDAS PRIEST. Broken dreams is real heavy groover and Victim of society defines CAGE in a nutshell. What I still miss are vocals which are able to keep a tune a bit longer and what's even more important: better compositions. CAGE are a good band but sometimes I have the impression that they still are a bit too wild. Nethertheless: Truemetal fans should check this band. 5 points
