Doro "Calling The Wild" english summary

Ich muss gestehen, das Vorgängeralbum "Love Me In Blck" war der erste Longplayer von Fr. Pesch, welches den Weg in meinen CD-Player gefunden hatte. Und noch schneller als es drinn war, war es auch wieder draussen. Mit "Calling The Wild" folgt also nun die Rückbesinnung auf alte Tugenden, oder etwa doch nicht?

Auf alle Fälle ist zunächst mal die Zeit der experimentellen Elektromucke vorbei und traditioneller Metal angesagt. Dabei stehen den härteren Nummern zahlreiche Balladen gegenüber, und was den Schmusepart angeht, so gibt es absolut nichts zu meckern. Die härtere Kost haut mich nun nicht gerade vom Hocker, die Coverversion von Billy Idols "White Wedding" kann sich hören lassen, absolut peinlich sind allerdings Texte wie "Ich will alles". Die Zusammenarbeit mit alten Kumpels wie Lemmy mag zwar ganz reizvoll sein, aber auch hier ist das Resultat bestenfalls mittelprächtig.

Rückbesinnung kommt wohl schon hin, zu Euphorie allerdings besteht kein Grund. Wertung: 5

To be honest I am anything else than an DORO specialist. The last records of the german metal legend with lots of (much to) modern influences were for most of the fans really disappointing and from this point of view the new release surely can be taken as an back to the roots record. So far so good, but not all of the trax are able to satisfy. As usual the ballads are really highlights, the quality of the metal trax is very different. I can't find any reason to become euphoric. 5 points
