ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW fügen sich nahtlos in die Ahnenreihe von DIMMU BORGIR und den CHILDREN OF BODOM ein, will sagen: wir haben es hier mit einem Kombinat aus Black Metal und symphonischem Powermetal zu tun. Während die ersten beiden Tracks Shattered soul und Blood of faith stains my hands so richtig holzen, gibts mit Autumn's grief einen melodischen Powermetal-Hammer mit Grunzvocals. The seventh eclipse haut wieder richtig was aufs Kerbholz ... deftiger Black-Metal mit Kirchenorgel-Untermalung und mitreissender Rhythmik während der Hauptteile. Kimberly Gross (SINERGY) veredelt mit ihren Vocals das balladeske und zugleich elegische Bride of the crimson sea. Mit Black tears, Tar of chaos und dem von einer tollen Klavierpassage aufgelockerten Bhean sidhe gibts wieder volle Breitseite bevor Kimberly Gross den Abschlusstrack Nocturnal strains in Gänsehaut-Regionen hauchen darf.

Für Progger und Melodic-Metaller sicher keine Offenbarung ... für Black-Metaller mit Vorlieben zwischen DIMMU BORGIR und EVEREVE Pflicht ! Wertung: 7

ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW are a new symphonic black metal sensation from Finland, somwhere between DIMMU BORGIR and the CHILDREN OF BODOM. What you get is a great mixture of black metal and symphonic powermetal. Some track really are fast as hell (Shattered soul, Blood of faith stains my hands, The seventh eclipse) while other tracks are more smooth, melodic and epic (Autumn's grief, Bride of the crimson sea, Nocturnal strains).During three tracks Kimberly Gross (SINERGY) helps out with the vocals, which adds some very useful variety to the vocals.
