John Miner's Rock Oper "Heaven's cafe" ist ein Konzeptwerk, das neben der Musik auch auf eine artistische und durchchoreographierte Show setzt, also quasi einen Artrock-Zirkus. Veröffentlicht wurde die Rock-Oper als Studio- und Live-Album vom neuen Label Tributary Music (Las Vegas/USA).

Musikalisch spricht "Heaven's cafe" wohl eher die alten Genesis-Fans, die psychedelischem Artrock und alternativ-angehauchtem 70ies Hardrock offen gegenüber stehen. Ruhige Songs wie Heavens cafe, Never alone und Tower of information unterstreichen das songwriterische Talent von John Miner. Im Gegensatz zu diesen Songs sind viele der anderen Songs zu hektisch, unrund und kratzbürstig.

Live erlebt man diese Rock-Oper aufgrund der artischen Showeinlagen sicherlich anders. Die Live-CD im heimischen Wohnzimmer mach mir dagegen nicht viel Spaß. Anbei noch der Hinweis, daß es noch ein Studioalbum dieser Rock-Oper gibt. Wertung: 3

John Miner's rock opera "Heaven's cafe" is a concept work focusing on music and theatrical artistry ... one could desribe it as some kind of art rock circus. This rock opera is released as a live CD and a separate studio CD by the new label Tributary Music which is based in Las Vegas / USA. Concerning the music this album is more for the "old Genesis meets psychedelic rock and some alternative 70ies rock"-fans. Soft songs like Heavens cafe, Never alone and Tower of information show that John Miner has quite some skill in songwriting. All the other songs are too hectic and have to much crabbiness. Could be that this rock opera is a great experience if you see it live ... but in my living room it was not able to grab my soul. 3 points
