Lilitu "The earth gods" english summary

LILITU sind eine dark gothic metal Band aus den USA, die mit "The earth gods" ihr Debut vorstellen, das übrigens vom gleichnamigen Buch von Kahlil Gibran inspiriert wurde.

Die Band entschuldigt sich im Booklet ausdrücklich für den Sound des Albums und macht "mangelnden technischen Support" dafür verantwortlich, wünscht jedoch zugleich viel Spass mit dem resultierenden gefühlsechten Album ... na dann drücken wir mal ein Auge zu ...

LILITU's düsterer Gothic Metal weist u.a. traditionelle Gothic Rock und Gothic-Metal-Einflüsse, aber auch die üblichen Folk- und gesangtechnisch sogar einige Black Metal-Anleihen auf. Paradebeispiel hierfür ist der Opener The 7th aeon. Blackmetallisch gehts weiter mit Firmament und To burn before the sun. Letzterer Track ist von straighten Gothic-Passagen aufgelockert aber spätestens jetzt muss ich auf dem Sound rumhacken ... denn dieser ist wirklich eines Labels nicht würdig. Irgendwie schade, denn LILITU legen für Black-Metal-Verhältnisse äußerst intelligente Einfälle und Akustikparts an den Tag (man denke nur nur an den 11-minütigen Opus und Albumhighlight The earth we shall inherit), die leider im Sound vollkommen untergehen.

Wenn ich auch die Ankündigung als "eine der vielversprechendsten US Gothic-Metal-Acts" für noch etwas überzogen halte, sind LILITU vor allem für die melodische Fraktion der Black Metal-Gemeinde schon mal ein Name, den man sich dort merken sollte. Wertung: 4

LILITU are a dark gothic metal band from the USA. "The earth gods" is their debut album. In the booklet the band apologizes for the poor sound resulting from "lack of technical support" and tells us to enjoy the honest sound. LILITU's dark gothic metal shows some traditional gothic rock and gothic metal influences, but also folk- and (regarding the vocals) black metal influences, i.e. the opener The 7th aeon. To burn before the sun is a black metal track which is decorated by atmospheric gothic parts ... unfortunately the sound is really bad and really a shame for a label release. What a pity ... LILITU do really have some very good ideas (along with the acoustic parts) compared to other goth and black metal bands. The band info claims LILITU to be one of the most promising US goth metal acts ... in my opinion this is not yet the case, but they are on a good way. 4 points
