Nexus "6" english summary

Komplett in griechischer Sprache (auch bzgl des Gesangs) kommt die neue CD "6" der Industrial-Metaller NEXUS daher. Die Band hieß bis 1998 FLOWERS OF ROMANCE.

Daß Industrial Metal nicht gleich immer losbrazzeln muss, beweisen NEXUS mit ihren Kompositionen, die oftmals soft am Drum'n'Bass, Trip Hop oder am ambienten Psychedelic Rock kratzen. Die Gitarren sind sanft im Sound und auf Atmosphäre bedacht, anstatt auf Agressivität wie es z.B. bei den KRUPPS der Fall ist. Begeistern können folgende Songs: Das Instrumental Leaving the future behind, das leicht barocke As long as the world exist, das psychedelische-funkige Instrumental Magic night sowie der tiamatige Schlusstrack The colour song.

Für Industrial Metal-Verhältnisse bringen NEXUS sehr dezente und ambiente Kompositionen ... leider scheitern fast alle Songs mit Gesang an genau demselben ... lustlose Melodiebögen und extrem ausdrucksloser Gesang rauben dem stimmungsvollen Instrumentarium leider sämtlichen Flair. Wertung: 2

NEXUS is the name of a soft industrial metal band from Greece, formerly known as FLOWERS OF ROMANCE. NEXUS are one of the few bands which don't define industrial metal as noisy machinery. The compositions of NEXUS often touch the borders of Trip Hop, Drum'n'Bass and ambient psychedelic rock. For NEXUS atmosphere seems more important than aggression. THe album features 4 very good songs: the instrumental Leaving the future behind, the medieval As long as the world will exist, the psych-funk-instrumental Magic night and The colour song which reminds me of TIAMAT a bit.
Compared to other industrial metal bands NEXUS have very comfortable and ambient compositions ... unfortunately all songs with vocals fail because of the vocals .... lacking of melody and expression the vocals steal most of the atmosphere that the instruments have created. 2 points
