In bester 70er Rock-Manier präsentiert sich NO BRASS, das Projekt um Mike Kovacs.

Etwas 70er Hardrock gefällig ? NO BRASS aus Ohio knüpfen in punkto Progressive Rock dort an, wo Bands wie Boston oder die Allman Brothers aufgehört haben. Jammender Rock mit einem leichten Hauch von Blues, Jazz und Funk, einer Brise Flair der ersten beiden VAN HALEN Alben, freakigen Gitarrensolos, ein wenig TED NUGENT hier, etwas ALEX HARVEY dort. Das Album entfaltet kräftigen 70er Flair, bewirkt bei mir jedoch nur selten Verzückungsmomente, da die Tracks - auch in punkto Vocals - zu trocken daher kommen, was mir bislang auch den Zugang zu vielen 70er Release versperrt hat.

Für Liebhaber von gitarrelastigem 70ies Rock ein heißer Tip. Ich persönlich komme nicht so richtig in das Album rein. Wertung: 4

What about some 70ies rock ? NO BRASS from Ohio is the brainchild of Mike Kovacs, who took care of drums and vocals on this debut release. NO BRASS play 70ies jam rock with influences of blues, jazz, funk, progrock, good guitar solos, sometimes sounding like TED NUGENT, sometimes like ALEX HARVEY, sometimes like the ALLMAN BROTHERS or BOSTON. If you like guitar oriented 70ies rock, you should check this album out because it combines both feelings of the 70ies and the 90ies and features very good work on guitar. For my personal taste the album is a bit too dry ... but that's a problem I have with lots of releases from the 70ies. 4 points
