Pan Out Now "Progress" english summary

Einige von Euch werden sich an das Review von iO "Strange Tales" erinnern. Die Band hat sich mittlerweile in PAN OUT NOW umbenannt und präsentiert uns das damalige i0-Debüt "Progress" nun eben unter dem neuen Namen PAN OUT NOW.

Ich muss zugeben ... ich war positiv überrascht über den etwas härteren Charakter von "Progress" im Vergleich zu "Strange tales". PAN OUT NOW haben ein Gefühl für progressiv angehauchte, anspruchsvolle Rockmusik. Der Titletrack Progress gehört mit zu den stärksten Songs des Genres, die ich seit langem gehört habe. Eat it up ist ein frecher leicht schräger Rock-Track, der reichlich PAN OUT NOW-Flair versprüht. Wie gewohnt, ist es vor allem die Ergänzung vom Tim Foley und Stephanie Sheri am Mikro, das den Songs besonderes Feeling verleiht. Funkig-progrockig präsentiert sich Explain, groovend als wären LIVING COLOUR wieder auferstanden. Living in a dream schlägt in die gleiche Kerbe, wird jedoch von bluesiger Orgel begleitet anstatt von Riffs der gemäßigten harten Art. Untitled #1 zeigt die Band von der zarten Seite und dürfte vor allem für Fans von Bands wie ENCHANT oder MIND'S EYE höchstinteressant sein.

PAN OUT NOW beherrschen den Spagat zwischen knackiger Rockmusik, bluesigem Flair, jazzigen Anleihen und progressivem Touch. Das Album braucht einige Durchläufe ... es lohnt sich ! Wertung: 7

Some of you might remember a band called iO and their album "Strange tales". The band changed their name to PAN OUT NOW. The album "Progress" was the debut of iO ... now rereleased as PAN OUT NOW album. I have to admit that I was very surprised by the somehow more heavy tune on "Progress". PAN OUT NOW really have a great talent to write progressive influenced rock music. The titletrack Progress for example is one of the best tracks I have heard this year. Eat it up is a freaky rock track which is spraying lots of PAN OUT NOW atmosphere into the air. As usual the vocal duo of Tim Foley and Stephanie Sheri gives some special feeling to the songs. Explain sounds like a funky reincarnation of LIVING COLOUR, Living in a dream is a bluesy track and Untitled #1 shows the soft side of the band which is very suitable for fans of ENCHANT or MIND'S EYE. PAN OUT NOW really are masters of balancing among crunchy rock, bluesy feeling, jazzy influences and progressive touch. 7 points
