Sven Schmidt, seines Zeichens Drummer bei der Darmstädter Progrock-Hoffnung SFUMATO, drückte mir auf der zahlreich besuchten (hust) ProgConvention 2000 eine CD seiner Marillion-Coverband SEASONS END in die Hand.
| Rezension |
Die Jungs machen ihre Sache wirklich gut. Der Sound ist mehr als akzeptabel, die Vibrations der Originalsongs (egal ob Drums, Keyboards oder Rothery's Gitarrenspiel) kommen einwandfrei rüber, auch gesanglich ist alles im Lot, obwohl sich Frank Altendorf einige Male bei Warm wet circles an FISH's Dynamik die Zähne ausbeißt (klingt einige Male recht dünn und erzwungen), jedoch bei den Songs aus der noch andauernden Hogarth-Ära eigentlich überzeugen kann.
| Fazit |
Vor allem für Progrock-Veranstalter und Livemusik-Kneipen sicherlich eine überlegenswerte Sache. Natürlich dürfen auch Marillion-Fans mit Underground-Interesse zugreifen.

| Summary |
The german Marillion cover band SEASONS END gave us a demo CD containing three songs: Warm wet circles, Easter, The great escape. The covers are well done, all of them are able to bring back most of the atmosphere of the original songs. Especially on Warm wet circles singer Frank lacks of strength and range, but nethertheless: a good demo.
