Blackmetal aus Deutschland ? Jawohl ... SUIDAKRA !

SUIDAKRA sind und bleiben eine Blackmetal-Band ... allerdings lockern sie die Atmosphäre immer wieder mit griffigen Riffs, melodischen Soli , mittelalterlichen Folk-Spritzern, Choreinlagen und episch-gemäßigten Passagen auf, was streckenweise an AMORPHIS, frühe TIAMAT oder frühe SLAYER erinnert. Highlights sind ... hm ... eigentlich alle Tracks, denn es gibt keinen Track, dessen kompromißlose Härte nicht durch melodische Einlagen oder Headbangin' Fun aufgerissen wird. Während Bands wie z.B. CHILDREN OF BODOM so manche Songparts aneinanderkleben, erschaffen SUIDAKRA kompakte Einheiten. Als Anspieltips empfehlen sich Wartunes, Dragonbreed, das symphonische Fates of Nevermore, das mittelalterliche Akustikgitarre-Instrumental Serenade to a dream, The arcane spell sowie das SKYCLAD-Cover The one piece puzzle

Bei SUIDAKRA stimmt alles ... Songstruktur, Sound, Präzision, Abwechslungsreichtum und insbesondere die Gratwanderung zwischen Melodik und Brachialität. Und wo gibts schon ne Blackmetal-Scheibe mit toller Lagerfeuer-Akustikguitarre/Klavier/Gesangs/Flöte-Ballade (Rise of Taliesin) im BLIND GUARDIAN-Stil, die über die gesamte Spieldauer nicht ein einziges Mal in störende Härte ausartet ???? Wertung: 7

SUIDAKRA are a great blackmetal band from Germany. You'd like to know what makes this band that great ? It's the variety of their songs. SUIDAKRA really play wild blackmetal, but their songs contain melodic solos, headbangin' powermetal riffs, medieval folk elements and epic parts, too. Sometimes these epic parts remind me of early TIAMAT, AMORPHIS and even SLAYER. Compared to CHILDREN OF BODOM (whose songs sound too constructed) SUIDAKRA have succeeded in writing fluent songs (i.e. Wartunes or Dragonbreed). This band has a feeling for music ... you don't believe me ? Then just listen to the atmospheric acoustic guitar/piano/vocals/flute ballad Rise of Taliesin or the medieval instrumental Serenade to a dream. Cool album ! 7 points
