TIMESCAPE wurden 1995 von Johan Berlin und Robert Haglund gegründet. "Strange" ist das zweite Album der Nachwuchs-Progmetaller aus Skandinavien.
| Rezension |
Mit Falling hat man den goldrichtigen Opener ausgewählt, einen vielschichtigen, dezent soften Progmetal-Track, der auch Vertretern der ENCHANT-Fraktion schmecken dürfte. Mit dem Stampfer Castles of sand beginnen sich die Schwächen der Band herauszukristallisieren ... ungefällige Gesangslinien und zu oft verlorene rote Fäden. Eigentlich schade, denn musikalisch tendieren TIMESCAPE einige Male ans untere Ende von Bands wie z.B. MIND'S EYE. Die Band geht niemals brachial zu Werke, ist um anspruchsvolle Zurückhaltung bemüht, scheitert halt leider etliche Male gesanglich bzw. verzettelt sich desöfteren in zu groovigen Abschnitten, wobei man desöfteren an LIVING COLOUR erinnert wird.

Eigentlich ist kein grottenschlechter Song an Bord. Wenn TIMESCAPE lernen, Songs wie z.B. das tolle Hell freezes over, das dichte ...looking for a miracle oder das funkige I'm your nothing noch einen Tick runder rüberzubringen, dann sollte einem aufsehenerregendem Album nichts mehr im Wege stehen. Adrenaline haben aber einen guten Riecher bewiesen, denn hier ist noch einiges drin !

TIMESCAPE were founded in 1995 by Johan Berlin and Robert Haglund. "Strange" is the second album of the scandinavian progmetalheads. The opener Falling is the best track of this album ... soft progmetal, especially suitable for fans of the ENCHANT album. Beginning with the second song the weak points of this band shine through which means: unmelodic vocal lines and lost structure. What a pity because somehow TIMESCAPE comes close to bands like MIND'S EYE, never getting nervetingling, always trying to deliver decent sound. If the vocals gets better and the band don't looses their atmosphere in those unmelodic LIVING COLOUR-style groove-parts then songs like the great Hell freezes over and the funky I'm your nothing will not be the only recommendable ones of this band. Adrenaline Records have done right to sign this band cause is seems that they are not at the end of their road yet.
