Cascade "The fearsome cry" english summary

Die deutschen Melancholie-Rocker CASCADE wurden 1995 gegründet. Nach mehreren Demos und Besetzungswechseln veröffentlichte das Quartett im März 2001 die EP "The fearsome cry".

Die Musik von CASCADE einzuordnen, ist gar nicht mal zu einfach. Für Gothic Metal ist sie zu sanft, für Gothic Rock zu hart, für Alternative Rock zu bittersüß und nachdenklich, für progressive Rock zu straight, für Rockpop zu vielschichtig und nicht seicht genug. Dennoch finden wir alle diese Komponenten ... sanfte Melodien, weiche Akkorde, tolle mehrstimmige Arrangements (z.B. der tolle Opener The fearsome cry), alternativen Flair (Master of illusion), progressiven Darkwave (Out of sight), akustische Töne im Zusammenspiel mit progressiven Klangteppichen (Need her badly) sowie mit Reflections ein warmes Bad in romantischer Melancholie mit progrockiger Gitarrenarbeit. Besonders beindruckend ist die Fähigkeit der Band, tolle Melodien zu weben ... das gilt auch für die Vocals !

CASCADE sind eine Bereicherung der deutschen Undergroundlandschaft, die hoffentlich dort nicht versauern wird. Aufgrund der Spannweite ihrer Musik werden CASCADE sowohl Fans aus dem Gothic-Lager als auch aus dem Progrock-Lager und Artrock-Lager ansprechen. Unbedingt abchecken ! Wertung: 7

CASCADE were founded 1995 in Germany. After several demos and various changes in the line-up the band released the EP "The fearsome cry" in March 2001.
The music of CASCADE is not that easy to categorize ... too soft for gothic metal fans , too heavy for gothic rock fans, too sweet and thoughtful for alternative rock fans, too straight for progressive rock fans, too complex for poprock fans ... but you find all this components in their music: soft melodies, soft chords, great vocal arrangements (The fearsome cry), alternative atmosphere (Master of illusion), progressive darkwave (Out of sight), acoustic tunes with progressive carpets (Need her badly) and a warm bath drained with romance and melancholy (Reflections). CASCADE are a beautiful flower in the german underground ... I hope that they don't stay there for too long. No matter if you like progressive rock, art rock or gothic rock ... both fractions must check this band ! 7 points
