DFA haben sich mittlerweile ihren Namen ans Progressive Rock/Fusion-Band gemacht. Die Italiener haben über Moonjune Records nun einen tadellosen Live-Mitschnitt vom 2000er Nearfest-Festival veröffentlicht.

Als erstes einmal zum Sound: perfekt. Kommen wir zur Spieldauer: volles Rohr. Kommen wir zur Stimmung im Publikum: gut ! Spiellaune und technische Sicherheit der Musiker: bestens. Fehlt nur noch ... die Musik: DFA tischen eine packende Mischung aus instrumentalem jazzigem Fusion-Progrock und melodischem Progrock auf. DFA lassen ihren Kompositionen viel Raum zum Atmen und Aufblühen ... insbesondere die Keyboards sowie feinfühlig-funkige Guitartöne leisten hier tolle Entspannungsarbeit, bevor es wieder abgedreht und jazzig wird. Alleine schon das vielschichtige Instrumental Escher gehört mit dem Keyboard-Spektakulum Pantera in jede anspruchsvolle Progressive Rock Sammlung.

DFA are a progrock band from Italy. Moonjune Records have released a live recording of the DFA gig during the Nearfest 2000 festival.
The sound is great, the atmosphere in the audience is good, the technical skills of the musicians are great and the alchemy between the band members is tremendous. The music ? A dramatic mixture if instrumental jazz-fusion-prog and melodic progrock. DFA give lots of space and breath to their compositions, especially regarding to the keyboards and the sensitive funky guitar playing. A great album ! Fans of instrumental prog will love this album.
