Nach längerer Suche haben die deutschen Heavyrocker FOREVER mit Jason Marks einen neuen Sänger gefunden.
| Rezension |
"Faces of the past" bemüht sich redlich um Abwechlungsreichtum im Rahmen handelsüblichen Melodic Heavyrocks bzw. soften Melodic Metals. Ebenfalls bemüht ist die Band um Groove und Drive, jedoch erreichen nur wenige der Songs dieses Ziel, darunter das straighte und melodische BEyond force, der sanftmütige Heavyrocker Feels like love sowie der grimmige Freedom train. Natürlich sind auch eine Reihe Balladen am Start (Wild heart, Real love, Out of sight - out of mind, Silent sky), von denen jedoch nur Real love überzeugen kann. Insbesondere der Gesang versäumt es, markante Momente zu schaffen, die dem Zuhörer als Aufhänger und Wiedererkennungswert dienen könnten.

Gute Ansätze sind massig vorhanden, es fehlt jedoch noch gewaltig am Feinschliff.

The german heavyrock band FOREVER finally found a new singer, Jason Marks from the U.K. Founded in 1998 by guitarist Deddy Andler and Frankie Wolfgang, FOREVER now have released a new longplayer entitled "Faces of the past". The riffing of this release is interesting and ranges from typical melodic heavyrock to soft melodic metal. The band always tries to create groovy songs with some sophisticated and slighty complex arrangements, but only some of the songs are able ro reach that aim, among them the straight and melodic Beyond force , the melodic metal rocker Feels like love and the evil Freedom train. Of course you get some ballads, too: Wild heart, Real love, Out of sight - out of mind, Silent sky ... with only Real love convincing. Unfortunately the vocals (and their arrangements) could not convince me on all tracks because they were not able to build up atmosphere and unique melodic moments. There's something missing in the music, FOREVER should stick to their movitation and keep the faith as they seem to be on a good way to a good album.
