Das junge Label Think Progressive stellt mit NOVA DRIVE eine neue Band unter seine Fittiche.

NOVA DRIVE lassen sich wohl am ehesten als ambiente und trendige TripHop/Independent Rock-Band einstufen. Alone bietet pulsierenden und groovenden TripHop an der Grenze zum Indi-Psychedelic. Spoon arbeitet mit psychedelischen und spacerockigen Guitarläufen, die einige Male an die schweizerischen Paradespacerocker MAYFAIR erinnern ... der Track besitzt aber nicht die Klasse der Eidgenossen, weil viel zu hektisch. Auf Free stimmt dann alles wieder ... lässiger Groove, freakige Gitarre und triphopige Vocals. Dieses Wechselbad aus mir zu nervösem Indi, zu sperrigem Psychedelic und lässigen Grooves zieht sich leider bis zum Ende der CD durch, sodaß nur noch die Songs Monroe (relaxter TripHop-Spacerock) und Dropout herzuheben ist.

Wohl nur für die psychedelisch veranlagte Spacerock/Indi-Fraktion geeignet.

The young label Think Progressive has signed the release of the new NOVA DRIVE album "Headlong". NOVA DRIVE could be described as ambient and trendy triphop/independent rock band with psychedelic inclination. Alone offers pulsating and groovin trip hop at the borders of Indi-Psychedelic. Spoon uses psychedelic and spacerocky guitars, sometimes reminding me of swiss spacerockers MAYFAIR ... unforunately this track makes me a bit too nervous. Free has no errors ... good groove, freakin guitars and triphoppin' vocals. The bad thing is: the CD goes on on like that: nervous songs followed by cool groovin' ones.
Overall: "Headlong" is only suitable for true fans of psychedelic spacerock/independent rock.
