SATURNIA ist ein ambitioniertes TripHop/Ambient-2 Mann-Projekt aus Portugal.
| Rezension |
Hut ab, was Luis und Francisco hier gezaubert haben: sanft loopende Drumbeats, dezente Gong-Klänge, fernöstliche Percussion, wabernde Gitarrensounds, ambiente Keyboards und teilweise leicht psychedelische Melodiezyklen. Nach dem treibenden Opener Chrysolis sorgt Bliss für flowerpower-inspirierte Entspannung und psychedelische Klangteppich-Collagen. Still life lässt mit wehenden Flötentönen und dezent elektronischer Percussion ebenso Verzückung aufkommen wie das tropische A trick of light, welches nur aus Vogelgezwitscher, leiser Drumpercussion und nebulösen Keyboardtönen besteht. Mit Azimuth driftet die Scheibe etwas in zu ruhige Gefilde ab und entfernt sich von dem bislang lässigen Charakter. Die Rückkehr zum TripHop gelingt den Jungs wieder mit Organo, einer herrlich von Orgeln, Synthesizern und Sitar durchzogenen Lowtempo-Beat-Nummer. Zm Abschluss gibts mit The glitter add nochmal eine Klangcollage.

Für Fans nicht alltäglichen TripHops bzw. ambienter Klangcollagen sind SATURNIA ein heißer Tip !

SATURNIA is an ambitioned TripHop/Ambient 2man-Project from Portugal. Luis Simoes and Francisco Rebelo have
created a beautiful album here: soft looping drumbeats, decent gong sounds, asian percussion, waving guitarsounds, ambient keyboards and psychedlic influences. Chrysolis is a great grooving opener. Bliss brings in some flowerpower atmosphere. Still life offers flutes and electronic percussion. A trick of light uses noises of tropical birds, soft percussion and mysterious keyboardsounds. Azimuth is a weak track which is too slow. Overall: Fans of unusual triphop and ambient sound collages should check out SATURNIA.
