Ganz so euphorisch würde ich das nicht sehen. SHANNON besitzt durchaus songwriterisches Talent an der Acoustic Rock/Songwriter-Front und man erkennt auf den ersten Blick, daß hier noch viel Potential vorhanden ist. Umgehauen hat mich an dieser Scheibe jedoch nichts. Die Stimme ist nicht schlecht, jedoch so außergewöhnlich auch nicht ... zumal mir irgendwas an den Gesangsarrangements nicht zusagen will ... im einen Moment denke ich, die Stimme liegt nen Tick neben dem Optimalton, dann aber passt alles wieder und ich denke, die leicht gezielt disharmonische Mehrstimmigkeit ist es, was mich stört. Ist alles ganz nett gemacht, aber für den Durchbruch bewegt sich während der 45 Minuten noch zu wenig und es fehlt - zumindest mir - an weiten und angenehmen Melodiebögen.

Eine gute Stimme macht halt noch keinen Sommer. Fans von quasi rein-akustischer Rockmusik mit Frauenstimme können ja mal reinhören, vielleicht hat mich diese Scheibe ja nur auf dem falschen Fuß erwischt.

SHANNON BEATY from Nashville is told to be a new star in the sky and is listed with names like TORI AMOS, ALANIS MORISETTE and SHERYL CROW. I would not be that euphoric concerning this release. Shannon really has
talent in songwriting and I must admit that there is much more to expect from this woman. Concerning the comparisons to TORI AMOS or ALANIS MORISETTE I could not find anything familiar with those artists. Shannon's voice is good, but not that spectacular as the promotional information tried to tell us. Something does not get into my ears regarding the vocal arrangements ... I am not sure whether it's the quality of the vocals or the willingly melodic disharmonic arrangements. This is a nice made album but overall there's not enough motion and variety during the 45 minutes.
