Das vorliegende Live-Archiv enthält 4 pralle Live-CDs. Die ersten beiden CDs beinhalten Hackett's gig vom 30 Juni 1979 im Hammersmith Odeon. CD 3 enthält Teile eines Open Air Gigs in Rom (Castel St Angelo, 13 Sept 1981). CD 4 bietet Songs von einem Gig in Londen (The Grand, 8 Juni 1993). Für das Review wurde uns CD4 zur Verfügung gestellt. Die CD startet mit einem freakigen Medley und geht nahtlos in das furiose Vampyre with a healthy appetite. Dann gibts da noch das spacige Sierra Quemada, das innovative und ambiente Take these pearls, das feinfühlige Walking away from rainbows und natürlich Cinema paradiso sowie bezaubernde Flöte während Kim, das groovende Lost your eyes und ein gelungenes Medley bestehend daus Spectral mornings, Firth of Fifth, Clocks. Die Vocals sind nicht besonders überzeugend, ist aber nicht weiter schlimm, da der Grossteil der CD instrumenteller Natur ist.

Eine tolles und anschaffenswerte Live-Dokumentation des musikalischen Schaffens von Altmeister Hackett.

STEVE HACKETT is known as a core member of early GENESIS and of course as a damn fine guitarplayer. The original CD package contains 4 CDs filled with live material.
CD 1 and CD 2 contain Hackett's live gig in London's "Hammersmith Odeon" (30 June 1979). CD 3 contains tracks of an open air gig that took place in Rome (Castel Sant Angelo, 13 Sept 1981).
CD 4 features tracks of a 1993 gig (London, The Grand, 8 June 1993). For the review we have received CD 4. The CD kicks off with a weird and freaking medley and continues with the dark and
furious Vampyre with a healthy appetite. Then there's the spacy and haunting Sierra Quemada, the innovative and ambient Take these pearls, the sensitive Walking away from rainbows and Cinema paradiso, the charming flute on Kim, the groovin' Lost in your eyes, the brilliant medley Spectral mornings, Firth of fifth, Clocks
The tracks with vocals are good concerning the instruments, but the vocals aren't a highlight at all ... but who cares anyway. A great piece of live (and life) documentation for fans of Steve Hackett.
