Jamie St.James ist den altbackenen Melodic Rockern sicherlich aus seiner Zeit bei BLACK'N'BLUE noch ein Begriff.

Mittlerweile hat Jamie bei einigen Bands sein Glück versucht, jedoch war es wohl jetzt an der Zeit, ein eigenes Projekt auf die Beine zu stellen, das auf den Namen ST.JAMES hört. "Americanman" ist eine klischeebeladene und durchschnittliche US-HEavyrock-Scheibe geworden ...mit straightem Beat, einfachen groovenden Riffs, melodischer Keyboardbegleitung und - leider - absolut nichtssagenden Gesangslinien. Der Sound der Produktion lässt ebenfalls kaum Freue aufkommen.

Ganz nett gemacht, aber derzeit gibts sackweise bessere Releases aus dem Melodic Rock-Sektor.

Former BLACK'N'BLUE vocalist (remember the heavyrock 80ies ?) Jamie St. James has founded a new band, simply called ST. JAMES. "Americanman" is a typical and okayish hardrock/heavyrock album with straight beat, simple but groovin' riffs, melodic keyboard companionship and unfortunatley "nothing special"-vocal lines. The sound of the production does not sound that powerful and technically perfect and the vocals are not dominating the fields in the way they could. Overall the music is done nicely, but did not hit my attention like a hammer ... so this is a fair hardrock release which can be only recommended to former fans of BLACK'N'BLUE. For all other heavyrockers there are better releases waiting out there.
