"Reflections" ist das nunmehr fünfte Album der schwedischen Epic/Prog-Metaller um den ehemaligen Karatechampion Thomas Wolf. Mit an Bord: Thomas Vikström, Ex-Sänger von Candlemass.

Mit War of Troy prügeln die Knaben symphonischsten Speed-Progmetal aus den Boxen ... elegischer Refrain, bretternde Doublebassdrum und breit angelegte Keyboardflächen machen diesen Track zum Opener der Spitzenklasse. Mit Illusion und Dynasty stehen zwei weitere fesselnde Tracks ins Haus ... klassische Melodiezüge, hämmerne Drums, progmetallische Riff-Stakkati ... Metalherz was willst Du mehr. Mit Ramses gibts dann auch die obligatorische Mystik-Hymne der Kategorie Holy land.

Viele Highlights aber auch auch einige zu überfrachtete Tracks, alles in allem jedoch ein gutes Album, dessen (guter) Sound einige Male einen kleinen Tick zu verwaschen daherkommt. Sänger Thomas Vikström beweist über die gesamte Spieldauer sein gewaltiges Stimmtalent ... den Mann sollte man gut im Auge behalten !

"Reflections" is the fifth album of swedish progmetallers STORMWIND, a band which is formed around ex karate-champion Thomas Wolf. On the vocals: Thomas Vikström (Ex CANDLEMASS) and on the keyboards: Kasper Dahlqvist (Ex TREASURE LAND). The opener war of Troy is a highly symphonic speedprogmetal hymn with great chorus, hammering drums, wide keyboards and fast riffs. Illusion and Dynasty are two more great tracks with classic melodies, great drums and progmetallic riff stakkati ... simply brilliant ! Ramses is another great mystic hymn in the style of Holy land. Some tracks are a bit too technical and don't have silent moments to calm down but overall "Reflections" is a very good album for fans of symphonic progspeedmetal. Thomas Vikström is a great choice for STORMWIND .... a great vocalist with a big future !
