Syrens Call "Fantasea" english summary

Die französischen Melodic-Metaller SYRENS CALL wurden Ende 1997 gegründet und waren bereits auf diversen Magazin-Compilations vertreten.

Hochpolierten Melodic Metal darf man hier nicht erwarten, jedoch ehrlichen, bodenständigen und sehr gut gemachten Melodic Metal im rauhen Sound. Der weibliche Gesang von Valerie Paul ist zwar noch steigerungsfähig, vergreift sich aber nicht ein einziges Mal auffällig im Ton. Der Opener Brave hearts bietet epische Passagen, groovende Riffs, symphonische Einlagen, schnelle sowie entspannte Guitarsoli und eine rundum schlüssige Rahmenverpackung. Das schöne an dieser CD ist: Was an perfekter Soundqualität fehlt, macht die Band durch Atmosphäre, ihren melodischen Charm und den sphärischen Keyboards wieder wett. Dies trifft sowohl auf progressiv-metallisch angehauchte Tracks, balladeske Töne als auch auf reine Melodic Metal-Songs zu.

SYRENS CALL melodischer Metal ist zwar technisch noch nicht 100%ig perfekt, besticht aber durch seinen Charm und die Liebe der Band zum sphärischen Melodic Metal. Die Band sollte sich mal mit den deutschen SEVENTH GATE auf ein paar Gigs zusammentun, denn beide Bands würden sich prima ergänzen. SYRENS CALL sind auf dem besten Weg, Frankreichs Progmetal/Melodic-Metal-Export Nummer 1 zu werden. Fehlt nur noch ein Tick spieltechnische Abstimmung und fetter, präziser Sound. Kompositorisch ist schon jetzt alles bestens ! Für Undergroundverhältnisse eine rundum empfehlenswerte Scheibe ! Weiter so ! Wertung: 6

The french melodic metalheads SYRENS CALL were founded in 1997. What you can't expect from this album is polished melodic metal in great sound. What you get is honest and enjoyable melodic metal with lots of heart. The female vocals of Valerie Paul can get better, but are already good enough to form a good performance. SYRENS CALL's spheric melodic metal shows some big progmetal influences. Although the sound quality is not a highest level this album can convince because of it's charm and the love of the band to heavy metal music. The compositions are done very well ... there aren't any edges and breakpoints to be found here. If the band manages to improve their sound and to get rid of some very tine instrumental disharmonies, this album would be a killer. SYRENS CALL are on the best way to become France's best progmetal/melodic metal export.
SYRENS CALL should get in contact with german melodic metalheads/progmetallers SEVENTH GATE for some gig exchange ... these two bands would fit perfectly into one evening of melodic metal with female vocals. 6 points
