UDO ist einfach ein Phänomen ... der Mann rockt und klingt wie damals zu besten ACCEPT-Zeiten. Wer's nicht glaubt, kann sich davon mittels der schmucken Digi-Book-Doppel-Live-CD "Live from russia" überzeugen.

Ich sage keinem von Euch was neues wenn ich sage daß Udo Dirkschneider in den 80ern mit ACCEPT Metalgeschichte geschrieben hat. Im Gegensatz zu den damaligen German-Metal-Exportschlagern wie z.B. SCORPIONS ist "Uns-Udo" zum Glück seinen Wurzeln treu geblieben und ist bei seinen Leisten geblieben. Und so bekommen wir auf "Live from Russia" die geballte Doppel-Ladung von UDO-Songs und ACCEPT-Knallern. Midnight mover, Metal eater, Animal house, Turn me on, TV war, Run if you can, Monster man, Living on a frontline, I'm a rebel, They want war .... welchem Metalfan wird hier nicht flau ums Herz vor intensiven Metal-80er/90er-Erinnerungen. Musikalisch und soundtechnisch präsentiert sich das Album so, wie man sich ein UDO-Livealbum vorstellt ... kompromisslos, rauh und strapaziös für die Nackenmuskulatar ! ;-) Einziger kleiner Wermutstropfen: Mir scheint, als ginge Udo vermehrt den hohen Shouts aus dem Weg.

Summa summarum eine rundum gelungene Doppel-Scheibe für alle unbekehrbaren Metalheads, denen ihre Roots noch etwas bedeuten !

"Live from russia" contains two CDs stuffed with pure heavy metal. The playlist is a mixture of UDO songs and ACCEPT hits: Midnight mover, Metal eater, Animal house, Turn me on, TV war, Run if you can, Monster man, Living on a frontline, I'm a rebel, They want war ... great hymns of metal. The sound is raw and direct without any compromise. UDO fans will love it. A good album with one weak point ... sometimes it seems like UDO avoids the high shouts ... but who cares ... get out your good old ACCEPT albums and let's rock with the
german monsterman of metal !
