Von Groove "The Seventh Day" english summary

Von Groove aus Kanade sind ja schon eine Weile unterwegs, und wie der Albumtitel vermuten lässt, handelt es sich bei "The Seventh Day" um das siebente Album der Band, die ja zwischenzeitlich auch mal bei MTM unter Vertrag war, aber seit dem letzten Jahr beim britischen Label Z Records gelandet ist. Dort erschien zunächst mit "3 Faces Past" ein Album mit Akustik-Versionen früherer Aufnahmen und jetzt folgt das nächste "richtige Album. Viele Melodic Rock Fans halten das Debüt von VON GROOVE noch immer für ihr bestes Album, Fakt ist jedoch, dass auch die aktuelle Scheibe nicht von schlechten Eltern ist. VON GROOVE liefern härtere Kost ab, schieben aber auch mal eine Mid-Tempo-Nummer ein und vergessen auch die Kuschel-Rock-Fraktion nicht. Vierzig Minuten Spielzeit für die zehn Nummern ist nun nicht gerade üppig, ansonsten gibt es allerdings kaum was zu meckern.

Like the title of this album says - "The Seventh Day" is the seventh record of this canadian band. After an deal with the german MTM label VON GROOVE are now signed by Z Records and after "3 Faces Past" - an album featuring acoustic version of older songs - now the next "real" new album. VON GRROVES music comes from an more harder edge, but the band is also able to create good midtempo tracks and ballads. Ten songs and just forty minutes is probably not enough for world leadership, but a good album anyway. 7 points
