Wie die Songtitel schon erahnen lassen, sind Z-AXIS nicht am Easy-Listening-Ufer zuhause. Z-AXIS wurden 1997 gegründet, um bei einer Multimedia-Artistik/Bühnenkunst-Performance namens "Reality check" mitzuwirken, der 1999 in Atlanta am dortigen 7-Stages-Theatre aufgeführt wurde.

"Reality check" ist also der Soundtrack des oben genannten Multimedia-Events. Jepp ... instrumental ... und nicht von schlechten Eltern. Jeder Song zaubert eine eigene Atmosphere, zu dem man sich spielend eine riesige Leinwand mit den verschiedensten Einblendungen vorstellen kann. Sonnenuntergänge, pulsierende Lichter Slow glass, Alltagshektik, Gefahr, Entspannung, rotierende Fraktale, schöne Landschaften (Emperors cascade), Nebel über Nepal im Zeitraffer (Holy ground), faszinierende und zugleich bedrohliche Unterwasserwelten (Sky song), mächtige Percussion (Silhouettes), mystische Atmosphäre (Suspension), mächtige Kirchenorgel gepaart mit typischem MUSEA-Progrock (In the country of the blind ...) ... um nur einige Impressionen aus der 70 minütigen Reise zu erwähnen.

Eine bildgewaltige und rundum empfehlenswerte Mischung aus World-Music, ambientem New Age, Soundtrack-Feeling und postmodernem Rock.

Looking at the track titles it was easy to recognize that this band is not from the easy listening planet. Z-AXIS were founded 1997 for performing the soundtrack for an multimedia-art-performance entitled "Realiy Check", which took place 1999 in the 7-stages theatre of Atlanta. This CD is the soundtrack of that event. Yes, it's instrumental and man, this CD is able to paint pictures in front of your eyes. Every song creates an atmosphere which lets you imagine an artistic multimedia-event with powerful and soft light effects. From mighty percussion tracks, exotic flair, mystic fog to church-organ-supported progrock you get evrything on this 70-minutes journey. Overall a highly recomendable mixture of world music, ambient new age, postmodern rock and soundtrack-atmosphere.
