Wieder erreicht uns eine CD, die nicht so recht ins musikalische Konzept der DURP passen will. Aber hören wir mal rein, was uns DOGS WELCOME aus München zu bieten haben.

"Excuse me" kann man wohl am ehesten als Rockalbum bezeichnen, man muss hier aber darauf hinweisen, daß man viele Einflüsse darauf findet ... angefangen von 70er Flair (Shooting star), relaxter Roadmovie-Atmosphäre (Smile), rotzig beschwingtem Rock (Baby said), bluesigrockiger Nettigkeit (Dust my broom), rauhes Memphis-Feeling (Here I stand) oder leicht düsterer Rock (das COMSAT ANGELS Cover The thought that counts). Trotz der vielschichtigen Einflüsse komme ich nicht in das Album rein ... die Melodien und Gesangslinien sind mir zu trocken, der Beat greift nicht so richtig, die Vocals tragen über weite Strecken nicht zur Atmosphäre bei (sind einfach da, bewirken aber nichts) und innerhalb der Songs bewegt sich mir nicht viel genug, sodaß nach 60 Minuten eigentlich nur drei Songs hängengeblieben; der Opener Shooting star, der Bluesrocker Dust my broom und das melodische I will not follow.

Evtl. für Fans solider handgemachter Rockmusik geeignet ... bzgl. der DURP gilt: falsche Baustelle.

This is another CD which did not make much sense in sending it to the DURP for a review.
DOGS WELCOME from Munich have released an album entitled "Excuse me", which primarily can be described as rock album. The album features various influences, ranging from 70ies flair (Sooting star), relaxed roadmovie atmosphere (Smile), dirty rock (Baby said) to bluesrock (Dust my broom), raw Memphis-feeling (Here I stand) and dark rock (the COMSAT ANGELS cover The thought that counts).
Despite of the various influences I can't get into this album as the melodies and the vocals are too dry, the beat is too simply and the compositions are too static. After 60 minutes only 3 tracks were able to place a trace in my mind .... Shooting star, Dust my broom, I will no follow.
Only for fans of solid handmade rockmusic.
