IN A VOID sind eine melodische Progmetal-Combo aus Dänemark. Ihr Demo "In a void" ist 18 Minuten lang und enthält 3 Songs.

Der Sound dieser Demo ist trocken und dünn, aber was solls ... so klingen manche Demos nun mal. Die Band vermischt weiche Progmetal-Elemente mit leicht doomig gestimmtem Heavy Metal. In a void ist ein eher gebremster Track, Brindisi eher schnell und mitten zwischen die Augen. Einige Mal fühlt man sich an ganz frühe FATES WARNING erinnert, insbesondere aufgrund der eingstreuten soften Passagen. Alles in allem fehlt es allen Songs an Leitmelodien, Hooks und klar unterscheidbarem Charakter. Auch bzgl. des Gesangs sollte einiges verbessert werden, denn sie klingen weder sonderlich präzise noch charismatisch.

Die Band ist noch jung ... warten wir mal auf die nächste Demo.

IN A VOID are a soft progmetal band from Denmark. The demo "In a void" is about 18 minutes long and contains 3 tracks.
The sound of this release is dry and thin but hey, it's a demo. The band mixes soft progmetal parts with metal and some kind of doomy atmosphere.
The opener In a void is a more downtempo track, Brindisi is a faster and more straight in the face track. Sometimes the band sounds
like a very early FATES WARNING demo, especially because of some soft intermezzos. Overall the songs (including the vocals) lack of lead melodies, themes and
an unique character and the vocals should be enhanced regarding of their souvereignity and parallelity to the music. The band is young and as "In a void" is their first demo ... so let's wait until their next demo before we judge them.
