"Hammered" ist das erste MOTORHEAD-Album, das nach mehr als 8 Jahren Motorhead-Abstinenz wieder an meine Ohren gelangt.

Naja, wie schon zu erwarten war, hat sich nicht viel verändert, denn die Dinosaurier rotzen ihren staubigen Biker-Rock'n'Roll noch genauso druckvoll vom Leder wie in den 80ern. Andere Bands werden angesichts monotoner Riffwiederholungen kritisiert ... bei Motorhead ist's cool und seit Jahren fester BEstandteil des Sounds. Walk a crooked mile besitzt überraschend harmonische Gesangsarrangements. Klassische Motorhead-Songs sind Down the line, Voices of war, das geradlinige Mine all mine sowie die Nackenbrecher No remorse und Red raw.

MOTORHEAD wie sie leiben und leben und wie man sie kaum frischer gehört hat.

My latest MOTORHEAD listening experience is way back in time. "Hammered" is the first MOTORHEAD album I've heard in 8 years. It's good to see and hear,
that these dinosaurs dusty rock'n'roll are still doing the thing they can do best ... and that's raw'n'rough rock'n'roll with heavy rhythm section and
Lemmy's growling JackDaniels-drained vocals ... in one word: that's still the cool sound of MOTÖRHEAD.
Concerning MOTÖRHEAD endless riff repititions don't matter, concerning MOTÖRHEAD rough vocals don't matter ... MOTÖRHEAD simply kicks butt !
The album starts with a quite sophisticated track (Walk a crooked mile), offering some damn fine vocal arrangements. Other strong highlights are
Down the line, Voices from the war, the straight rockin' Mine all mine, the brutal No remorse and the
fast'n'neckbreaking Red raw.
MOTÖRHEAD still won't make their fans in the melodic field ;-) ... but who cares ... the band still is back in a state of full energy and power in
good'old MOTÖRHEAD tradition. Fans of MOTÖRHEAD will like this one because this is MOTÖRHEAD like I heard them the first time in the late 80ies.
