Hamburg ? Metal ? True Metal ! Mit dieser einfachen Formel wäre das Album auch schon hinreichend beschrieben. Der Opener Abducted ist ein Opener pr excellence .... laut, hart, schnell, rauh und voll auf die Glocke. Palace of sin ist ein weiterer guter True Metal Song, allerdings wird hier die Schwäche der Band offensichtlich: der Gesang kann während der eigentlichen Songpassagen außerhalb der Refrains nicht so richtig überzeugen und keinen aggressiven Drive rüberbringen. Wenn jedoch die Background Vocals einsetzen, dann ist sie auf einmal da ... die True Metal Stimmung. Mit Armies of the blade gibts eine 1A Midtempo-Headbang-Nummer. Nicht überzeugen können Law of the blade, Empire's Fall, Back to glory und der Saxon-Track To hell and back again. Rundum gelungen dagegen ist wieder das vielschichtige Allied forces.

Alles in Allem ein gutes, knapp überdurchschnittliches Album für Fans des 80er True Metal. Mir fehlen noch ein paar epische Momente sowie ein paar richtig hauptschüttelnde Kracher.

The opener Abducted is a hammering true metal opener as you want an opener to be ... load, heavy, fast, unpolished and straight in the face.
Palace of sin is another true metal song, unfortunately uncovering the weak point of PARAGON ... the vocals during the main parts of the songs
sound not convincing and aren't metal enough to kick ass ... but as soon as the background vocals join, the vocals get the power they need and kick butt again.
Then the Armies of the blade grab your heads and shake them really hard ... a cool midtempo headbanger. Law of the blade, Empire's Fall, Back to glory and even the bonus track To hell and back again could not convince me, but Allied forces did convince me because of the mean power and the soft tunes.
Overall a good, slightly above average album for fans of 80ies true metal and vocals similar to GRAVEDIGGER. I missed some epic hooks and some long butt kickin' highlights.
