RAIN FELL WITHIN wurden 199 gegründet. Die Band vermischt melodischen Metal mit atmosphärischem Gothic Metal.

Getragen wird das ganze von den beiden Sängerin Dawn und Laurie, die beide über ein schönes Organ verfügen. Der Opener Torn apart besticht durch tolle Melodien, handfesten Drive und den Gesang. Dieser Song beweist, daß es die Band durchaus versteht, die Keyboards extrem atmosphärisch einzubinden. Das macht Lust auf mehr. Leider flaut die CD mit dann erst mal zunehmend ab, weil insbesondere die Gesangslinien keinen roten Faden mehr erkennen lassen. Erst mit In my dreams findet die Band wieder zu griffigen Songstrukturen zurück. Into the tower ist leider wieder symptomatisch für den Großteil der Lieder ... atmosphärische Keyboards, klare Guitarsounds und zwei gute Sängerinnen .... leider ohne die umspannende Melodien und verschmelzende Elemente.

EInzig Torn apart, Sirens und die Ballade Passing time zeigen das durchaus ansehnliche Potential der Band. Der Rest des Albums ist weniger strukturiert und nicht genug aufeinander abgestimmt und kann so kaum Charisma entfalten. Schade, hier wäre mehr drin gewesen.

RAIN FELL WITHIN were founded in 1996. The band creates a blend of melodic metal and atmospheric gothic metal. With Laurie and Dawn the band has two good female vocalists that add great heavenly touch to the dark metal tunes. The opener Torn apart is a very strong track with great melodies and good drive. The band is making effective use of the keyboards, adding lots of atmosphere and ambience to the songs. The child beneath is a soft track, unfortunately the vocal melodies are not wide enough to create the atmosphere that would be needed to make this track a winner. With In my dreams the band finds back to good atmosphere again. Into the tower is somehow symptomatic for mainly the entire album ... atmospheric keyboards, clean guitar sounds and two female vocalists are not enough to make a good album ... you must have good melodies and catchy arrangements as well ...but these ingredients are hard to be found on this release. The opener Torn apart, Sirens and the soft piano/keyboards/vocals-track Passing time are great tracks, showing the potential of this band. The remaining songs are not structured enough to develop a unique character.
