Auch Son Of Angels aus Skandinavien nehmen ihren zweiten Anlauf. Die Band wurde 1988 gegründet, war mit ihrem Debüt-Album inklusive Major-Deal bei Atlantic seinerzeit durchaus erfolgreich. Danach trennte man sich von dem Label, aber bevor man ein neues gefunden hatte, kam mit der Grunge-Welle auch das vorläufige Aus. Man löste sich 1992 offiziell auf, mit Beginn des neuen Jahrtausend kam man dann aber zu der Überzeugung, dass dies ja wohl noch nicht alles gewesen sein kann. So meldet man sich jetzt also mit "Slumber With The Lion" zurück und das sogar richtig gut. Das Album beginnt mit einem fulminanten Kracher, was folgt ist dann zwar eine Spur gemäßigter, kann aber vom Songwriting und der musikalischen Umsetzung dennoch voll überzeugen.

This album is an kind of Second Service for this band from Scandinavia. SON OF ANGELS was formed in 1988 and war very successful with the debut album - released via Atlantic! Like many other bands of the melodic rock genre also SON OF ANGELS becam an victom of the grung hype and so the band disbanded in 1992. But with the new millenium the members decided for a second try and in this case the result is very well. The opener of „Slumber With The Lions“ is a great rocker, the following tracks are more moderate but with convincing songwriting and musically skills, too. 8 points
