Die finnische Band TEARS wurde im Jahr 2000 gegründet und stellt die Nachfolgeformation der Band CHAINS OF SIN dar.
| Rezension |
TEARS spielen Gothic Metal, der einige Male sehr mainstreamig anmutet. Der Opener Trust is gone enthält melancholische Töne, einen extrem groovenden und verzerrten Bass sowie sehr einfühlsame Gitarrenarbeit. Eigentlich zeigen alle Songs, daß die Band gute Gothicmetal-Songs an der Grenze zum Gothicrock schreiben kann ... dummerweise machen das die Vocals zunichte. Der Sound der Riffs ist knackig und trendy, aber das muß ja nicht gleich als Verbrechen gebrandmarkt werden.

Für eine junge Nachwuchsband ist es eine ordentliche Demo, aber einer weiteren Verbreitung steht der schlechte Gesang im Weg, der es zudem nicht ein einziges Mal schafft, eine Melodie im Ohr zu verankern.

The finish band TEARS was formed in the year 2000 after the split of the gothmetal band CHAINS OF SIN.
TEARS play Gothic Metal, which is sometimes a bit mainstream-oriented. The music is heavily supported by keyboards. The first song Trust is gone
features melancholic tunes, a strong groovin' distorted bass and sensitive guitars. As shown by the other songs the compositions are good, unfortunately
the vocals are not. The vocals are not strong, they are not precise and overall they don't carry any spirit. The sound of the riffs during all
songs are very crunchy and trendy style, but that's not a crime ;-). Playing skills concerning the instruments are quite fine.
This is a demo of a young band which is OK for a demo, but for a wider audience the band should enhance the vocals quality and the lead vocal melodies in order
to place some hooks.
