THIRD VOICE waren ja bekanntlich auf unserem Sampler "DisDURPance Vol.2" enthalten.

Aufgrund ihrer Eigenart, eher softe und einfühlsame Gitarrenklänge zu verwenden kann THIRD VOICE bzgl. des Härtegrades in die Kategorie frühe ENCHANT gesteckt werden. Auch auf "Moments like these" gibt es weder bzgl. der Instrumenten noch der Vocals etwas auszusetzen.
Nach den sehr melodischen Simple man und Setting sun gibt es mit End of circle ein etwas sperriger Track. Blinded vereint gute Melodien mit vertrackter Riff-Rhythmik und einem höchst einfühlsamen Guitarsolo. Das letzte Drittel des Albums, eingeleitet von My voicey ist ingesamt sehr ruhig und einige Male auch akustisch gehalten.

Meiner Meinung nach hatte das Vorgängeralbum mehr Hooks und Highlights zu bieten, auch wenn "Moments like these" das technisch bessere Album ist. Es fehlen lediglich ein paar eingängige Stellen, um vor allem das gegen Ende leicht störende Computerdrumming aufzubrechen. Die Gesangslinien sind einen Tick zu ruhelos ausgefallen sodaß sich nach dem ersten Durchlauf nicht viele Momente im Ohr verankern konnten. Alles in Allem ein brauchbares gutes Soft-Progmetal-Album aus dem US-Untergrund.

THIRD VOICE were featured on our second compilation "Progressive DisDURPance Vol.2". The style of THIRD VOICE is melodic progressive metal. Unlike other progmetal bands THIRD VOICE use soft guitar tunes and soft drumming. As a result
their progmetal is much more soft and sensitive and can be compared to ENCHANT concerning the heaviness. Concerning instruments and vocals there's
not technical mistakes or weak points to be found, THIRD VOICE have their own good sound and skills. After the very melodic Simple man
and Setting sun there comes a dark track (End of circle) which I could not get into. Blinded is a great melodic track, with
complex riffs and a very ambient guitar solo. My voice brings in some soft and very gentle instrumental tunes. The last third of the album is very soft
and contains lots of acoustic tunes New day, Carry my soul Pt.I. With Carry ms soul Pt.II the album ends in a harmonic and melodic way.
In my opinion the preceiding album contained some more melodic hooks that stuck in the listeners head. "Moments like these" technically is the
better and more varied album. There's not much left to become a very good album ... the band should build in some more easy hooks in the vocal lines and let them breathe by breaking up the computer drumming. The vocal lines are very demanding and over the entire album the vocal lines change too often and so can't
place melodic hooks in the ears of "less experienced" listeners. Overall: a good soft progmetal album from the US-underground.
