Was liegt also näher, den Elektro-Remixer Mark Gage (bekannt als VAPOURSPACE) den Magna-Carta-BackCatalogue in die Hand zu drücken und ihn um elektronische Remixes von zumeist Prog-Material zu bitten. Elektronische Remixes von Progsongs ?? werdet Ihr Euch sicher fragen. Entwarnung ist angesagt, denn "uffz wumm wumm" spielt hier kaum eine Rolle. Der Großteil der Remixes benutzt lediglich einige Spuren der besagten Songs und ist im TripHop / Space-Jazz und Ambient-Drum'n'Bass beheimatet.Girl from Enchilada z.B. ist ein pulsierender elektronischer Opener mit Drum'n'Bass-Attitüde, Blue mondo färt psychedelischen Elektro-Prog auf, Led on verwurstet auf spacige Weise STEVE MORSE's LedZep-Homage. Interessant ist der spielerische Umgang mit DC COOPER's Vocaltrack, stammend vom EXPLORER'S CLUB-Song Time enough. Soften triphop mi schrägen Tendenzen gibts mit Osmosis und Dark corners (beide BOZZIO LEVIN STEVENS). Straighten House-Jam hört man dank Jenny nettles.

Gut gemacht, jedoch nur für brutalst open-minded Progfans ... oder brutalst open-minded ambient drum'n'bass Fans.

MAGNA CARTA tries to be an innovative and creative label. You might now Magna Carta from their artists, i.e. LIQUID TENSION EXPERIMENT, EXPLORERS CLUB, BOZZIO STEVENS, NIACIN or STEVE MORSE. Magna Carta told Mark Gage (known as VAPOURSPACE) to browse through existing mastertapes in order to remix, rearrange and convert progressive rock to electronic music between trip hop, space/acid jazz, ambient and drum'n'bass without loosing the progressive touch of the compositions. Girl from enchilada is a pulsating electronic opener with drum'n'bass attitude (damn cool track), Blue mondo is a psychedlic electro-prog inferno (very difficult to get used to), Led on (originally a LED ZEP homage of Steve Morse) comes with spacy textures and echo/synth effects. The second highlight is the interpretation of EXLORERS CLUB's Time enough, which plays with the vocal track of DC COOPER and space-jazz elements. Soft drum'n'bass with trip hop inclinations comes with the two crimson-esque BOZZIO LEVIN STEVENS tracks Osmosis and Dark corners. The third highlight is the interpretation of STEVE WALSH's Kansas .. a moody, slowed down track with all the vocal on it. The straightest and best track is TEMPEST's Jenny nettles .. a straight eletronic house jam.
Overall this release is done very well, although I think, that this release is only suitable for very open minded progrock fans ... or extremely open minded drum'n'bass fans.
